About

Honoring and celebrating diversity and uniqueness in each individual

Welcome to Origins Psychological Services where you can receive culturally appropriate, individualized and caring psychological services.  Are you having trouble coping with sudden changes in your life? Having trouble finding time for self-care?  Having trouble finding room to be compassionate with yourself? Feeling irritable often?  Having trouble concentrating?  Feeling down or blue?  Then contact me today. I support the well-being of my clients by paying attention to the social context in which they exist. I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds and pay particular attention to cultural variables that frequently play a role in clients' lives, as well as in the therapeutic relationship.  Specifically, I enjoy working with clients of different nationalities, as well as those with various religious backgrounds.  Parents who are raising children with disabilities are encouraged to call.  I respect and enjoy working with members of the LGBTQ population.   In our therapy sessions, we’ll work to examine current stressors and patterns in your life, as well as past experiences that may affect your functioning today.  In addition, sessions will be used to examine societal and contextual factors that impact your functioning.  You will also be encouraged to examine ways in which you can think or interpret events differently, manage your symptoms differently, or to relate to yourself in a kinder way to improve your sense of well-being.  The process is a collaborative one in which you will be encouraged to take ownership of the sessions.  Most of my clients come to see me for weekly or biweekly sessions.  Get in touch today to book an appointment. When working with my therapy clients, I integrate psychodynamic and relational approaches with ACT and Mindful self-compassion techniques.  As a licensed psychologist, I follow rules and regulations set forth by the state of Colorado, as well as ethical standards of the American Psychological Association.   I was born in Japan and was raised in Japan, UK and the United States.  I have over 15 years of practice experience providing psychological services in multiple settings.  I have worked in college counseling centers, a public school system, and long-term care facilities.  For the past ten years, my work has primarily focused on providing personalized services in private practice settings.
